Our founder, Simon Mkhonza
From humble beginnings as a dragline cleaner, Simon completed his Mining Studies in 1995 and in 1997 achieved his Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency. In his earlier mining development, he has worked and gained vast experience in both open-cast and underground coal mining operations, predominantly from BHP Billiton.
Later in his career he grew within Exxaro where he later served as Business Unit Manager for Glen Douglas Mine, Matla Coal and North Block Complex. He holds a (Hons) B B&A degree from the University of Stellenbosch.

Our customers are currently open-cast coal mining companies that require competent contract miners,
experienced mining consultants and mining coaches.

Our partners are service providers that we make use of in the delivery of services to our customers. Our major partners include:
Mine modelling consultants: - To conduct simulations, modelling, shift pattern analysis, and pit design analysis that guides Lomeza as to how to best achieve our targets.
Machine suppliers - This association assists us in the hiring and purchasing of equipment for specific applications.
Equipment maintenance providers- This enables us to analyse and record the performance statistics for our machine components. Our partners are experienced specialists in mining equipment, who are able to offer trusted advice on optimising our mining machine use and on proactive maintenance in order to extend the life of our high cost machines.
Our Community
We currently support two entrepreneurs from communities in the Delmas area, near Leeupan mine- where we are working. These entrepreneurs are contracted to provide us with dust suppression and road maintenance services for the duration of our contract at the mine.
Two of our employees have recently qualified as supervisors and one has already been promoted to that position.
